Civil Defense sirens tested twice a month

The Grand Island-Hall County Civil Defense sirens are tested at 1 p.m. on the first and 15th days of every month.

The regular test signal is sounded for one minute.

In the event of an actual emergency, the sirens would be sounded for three to five minutes, signaling people to turn to a local radio or television station for additional information.
