Schools/feeder schools-Students in Alda attend Alda Elementary School, Wood River Middle School and Wood River Rural High School (District 83).

Law enforcement-The Hall County Sheriff's Department handles law enforcement for the village of Alda.

Other attractions/events-The Nebraska Bird Observatory at Crane Meadows is an educational facility south of Alda, located at the Interstate 80 Alda interchange. Daily tours of the sandhill cranes on the Platte River are conducted there in March and early April. Husker Harvest Days, the country's largest irrigated, working ag show, is located three miles northwest of Alda. The three-day show is held annually in early to mid-September.
