<div class="storydigest"><MCC STORY>The Grand Island-Hall County Civil Defense sirens are tested at 1 p.m. on the first and 15th days of every month.<P>

The regular test signal is sounded for one minute.<P>

In the event of an actual emergency, the sirens would be sounded for three to five minutes, signaling people to turn to a local radio or television station for additional information.<P>
