Want to learn how to "trip the light fantastic"? Grand Island dance schools and organizations offer everything from ballroom dance to classical ballet.

  • The Dance Company, located at 106 W. Third, offers ballet, pointe, jazz and hip-hop classes. There is also a store that supplies dancewear and shoes. For more information, call 389-4416.

  • Another organization, which provides a variety of dance classes is the Heartland School of Dance, located at 110 1/2 N. Wheeler. Heartland offers ballet, tap and jazz. Its phone number is 382-5043.

  • Social dance classes are also available through the Lieder-kranz. It's located at 403 West 1st St. For information about the dances call 382-9337

  • The YWCA offers dance instruction for children and adults. Classes are available throughout the year in tap, ballet, creative movement, jazz, hip-hop, clogging, line dancing, belly dancing and exercising dance classes. Call the YWCA (384-9922) for specific times and classes.
