  • Grand Island Concert Association -- This local organization is dedicated to bringing live, world-renowned groups to Grand Island. Five concerts are scheduled for the 2004-2005 season.

    Family memberships are $95, and a single-parent-family ticket costs $50. Single adult memberships are $40, while student tickets (kindergarten through 12th grade) are $15.

    After July 1 each year, ticket prices are $95 for family memberships; $55 for single-parent families; $40 for adults; and $15 for students.

  • Grand Island Little Theatre -- GILT, or Grand Island Little Theatre, is an amateur theater group that presents four productions each season and one summer show. A season membership to all plays are available. The cost per ticket for a single show is $10 with discounts available.

    Anyone who is interested in purchasing tickets or wants to try out for a production may call the GILT office at 382-2586 or log onto www.githeater.org.

  • Live from the Park -- College Park in Grand Island has begun offering a performing arts series, which is available on a show-by-show or a membership basis. The series shoots for variety and has brought everything from opera and dance to live classical and dance music to Grand Island.

  • Grand Island Municipal Band -- Every summer for the past 100 years or so, the Grand Island Municipal Band has brought big sounds to the parks of Grand Island during the summer. This band plays a variety of music, ranging from marches to waltzes to patriotic tunes and is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department.

    There is no admission charge to the concerts. For more information, call 385-5444.

  • Prairie Winds Art Center -- Local artists of all disciplines gather at Prairie Winds Art Center, where there is always local and regional art on display and classes are usually held in a variety of art-related topics. The center is owned and operated by the artists, and membership is contingent on several factors.
